Emily Lyman is a Resident in Counseling who graduated from George Washington University with a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She also received her bachelor’s degree in Human Services. Emily has experience working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, grief/loss, life transitions, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, substance use disorders, and gender/sexuality issues. She also spent 10 years working in a variety of childcare settings which sparked her passion for working with children and families in a therapeutic context. Emily takes a strengths-based approach in her practice, relying on person-centered therapy, CBT (cognitive behavior therapy), and motivational interviewing.
Emily Lyman, Resident in Counseling is currently working toward licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor. She is registered with the Virginia Board of Counseling. Emily provides clinical services under the supervision of Dr. Grace Hipona, LPC. As a Resident in Counseling, Emily does not obtain or provide services on an independent basis, and she does not independently submit insurance claims.
